Position Summary:
PTMW seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tube Laser Operator to operate our tube laser cutting machine and associated material handling equipment including overhead cranes and powered industrial trucks at our Manhattan location. This role plays a vital part in the fabrication process by ensuring structural steel components are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain the tube laser, ensuring precision cuts, holes, and marks on structural steel.

Load, unload, and maneuver raw materials and finished components using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other powered equipment.

Interpret fabrication drawings, work orders, and technical instructions to ensure accurate processing.

Perform basic machine troubleshooting and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Monitor machine outputs to verify compliance with specifications and tolerances.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all company safety policies and procedures.

Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality inspectors to meet production goals.

Log production data, equipment checks, and maintenance activities as required.

Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience operating CNC machinery, beamlines, or similar automated fabrication equipment.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and fabrication drawings.

Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts

Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.

Preferred:

Prior experience with the tube lasers
