Duties
- Assist in the installation of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, and refrigeration equipment.
- Building and installing ductwork
- Support senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Learn to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans for system setup and repairs.
- Support service technicians during field service calls by preparing tools and equipment needed for repairs or installations.
- Follow safety protocols including handling refrigerants like ammonia refrigeration and maintaining compliance with EPA regulations.
Qualifications
- Construction experience or background in property maintenance is highly desirable.
- Prior experience as a service technician or mechanic is a plus but not required; we provide comprehensive training.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and HVAC system repair.
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, welding equipment, and equipment troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver license preferred.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, boiler operation, and appliance repair is beneficial.
- EPA certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire to handle refrigerants responsibly.
- Mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn about HVAC system installation and maintenance processes.
