Join our dedicated behavioral health team as a Substance Abuse Program Therapist, where you will play a vital role in guiding individuals through recovery and mental wellness journeys. Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Deliver specialized addiction counseling and substance abuse treatment programs aligned with best practices in addiction medicine.
- Manage crisis situations with effective crisis intervention strategies, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute distress or relapse.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records following HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, case managers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care and support recovery goals.
- Stay current with research developments in behavioral health, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and documentation standards to ensure compliance and quality of care.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, and addiction treatment modalities.
- Strong proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and motivation for change.
- Expertise in child & family counseling, crisis management, and home & community care settings.
- Familiarity with hospital-based care environments, PTSD care protocols, and behavioral health interventions.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems; knowledge of ICD-9/10 classifications is preferred.
- Excellent skills in patient assessment, case management, data collection, and medical documentation practices.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology necessary for maintaining confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.
