Job Description:
We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment providing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The LVN supports physicians and nursing staff in delivering quality healthcare by performing patient assessments and a variety of clinical tasks within the scope of LVN practice.
Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing intake and prepare patients for examinations.
- Administer prescribed medications, including injections and IV medications.
- Conduct blood/lab draws and initiate IVs with high proficiency.
- Accurately record patient vitals and visit reasons in medical charts.
- Set up examination and procedure rooms based on visit needs.
- Support wound care, oxygen administration, and Foley catheter insertions.
- Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to isolation precautions.
- Provide patient education, manage pain assessments, and participate in telephone triage.
- Float to nearby clinic locations as needed within scope of practice.
Required Qualifications:
- Active LVN license in the state of California.
- IV Certification.
- BLS Certification.
- Minimum of 2 year of recent outpatient clinic experience.
- Special Requirements: Epic
- Proficiency with venipuncture and starting difficult IVs.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous Urology experience strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and seniors.
- Team-based approach to care delivery with interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Clinic observes major holidays with closures as applicable.
Additional Details:
- Occasional weekend availability required (at least one weekend per month).
- Orientation provided onsite.
- Parking is free and validated.
