Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Floor Technician Custodian to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors across multiple facilities, utilizing specialized cleaning techniques and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial experience, demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and be committed to upholding high standards of environmental safety and floor care. THIS IS A 3RD SHIFT POSITION (10:00PM-6:20AM).
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to ensure optimal appearance and safety.
- Operate various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, and carpet cleaning machines efficiently.
- Handle floor cleaning chemicals safely, applying appropriate chemical agents for different surfaces while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of cleaning supplies, equipment, and furniture as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors in high-traffic areas through regular sweeping, mopping, and spot cleaning.
- Execute specialized floor care procedures such as floor buffing, waxing, and refinishing to restore or enhance surface quality.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally during cleaning operations.
- Follow environmental services standards by using eco-friendly products and practices whenever possible.
- Maintain detailed records of completed tasks and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Experience
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a focus on floor care in commercial settings. (REQUIRED)
- Demonstrated proficiency in using cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, buffers, waxers, and carpet cleaners.(REQUIRED)
- Knowledge of floor cleaning chemicals and proper handling procedures to ensure safety. (REQUIRED)
- Experience with various flooring types such as tile, vinyl, hardwood, and carpeted surfaces.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely.
- Familiarity with environmental services standards and environmentally friendly cleaning practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
