Spartan SEM is a rapidly growing digital marketing agency located in the Upstate of South Carolina. We offer white glove search engine marketing services to our clients. All positions are fully remote, but we do prioritize candidates that are close in proximity to our headquarters.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical SEO Specialist to join our digital marketing team. In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Director and support them in a multitude of tasks.
Provide a Portfolio, Case Study(s), or other examples of showing these skills in action to be set apart from other applications
Required Skills:
- Comfortable writing HTML & CSS code from scratch, without AI-assistance
- Conceptual understanding of JavaScript and PHP (coding from scratch not required)
- Experience working with various types of WordPress website and the Gutenberg editor
- Experience working with at least one page builder (i.e. Elementor)
- Experience managing websites on dedicated WordPress hosts (i.e. WP Engine, Siteground, Bluehost)
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals (Technical SEO health, Page Speed optimization, onpage best practices)
- Understanding of fundamental web design principles (color contrast, typography, brand consistency)
Preferred Skills/Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with managing domains and DNS
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting SMTP configurations
- Experience migrating existing WordPress websites from one web host to another
- Experience with Zapier and/or connecting lead generation platforms to CRMs
- Basic understanding of Google Tag Manager (Basic tags and triggers), Google Analytics (reports, key events), and Google Search Console (indexing report, Core Web Vitals, structured data).
- Basic understanding of Chrome DevTools
- Experience working with photo/graphic editing software (Canva/Photoshop/Illustrator/Affinity)
- Comfortable working in code editors (i.e. VSCode)

Regular Duties Include:
- Contributing to new client onboarding, ensuring their website's technical health is addressed
- Addressing client requests on a wide variety of WordPress website setups and communicating with your direct manager and the client account manager to ensure timely delivery and proper implementation
- Reviewing website projects, contributing to a smooth and successful launch
- Implementing internal and client feedback on new website projects, and assisting with the post-launch process
- Completing tasks (identified by leadership) on various WordPress setups to improve client KPIs
Pay: From $62,400.00 per year
