Beehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine’s speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.
Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role will be located at our Cincinnati, Ohio; Knoxville, Tennessee or Centennial, Colorado location facility.
About the Role
We're looking for a Supply Planner to own the intersection of engineering change and supply continuity. Every ECN, BOM revision, and configuration change carries real supply risk — obsolete inventory, mismatched lead times, orphaned purchase orders, or a production line that stops because the "old" part and the "new" part weren't sequenced correctly. This role exists to make sure change happens without disruption.
You'll be the person who translates engineering and configuration decisions into a supply plan that works on the floor, protecting inventory investment while making sure the right part, at the right revision, is available at the right time.
What You'll Do
-
Own supply planning impact assessment for all engineering changes affecting purchased and manufactured parts, from initiation through full implementation
-
Partner with Engineering, Configuration Management, Procurement, and Operations to determine effectivity dates, cut-in/cut-out points, and phase-in/phase-out timing that protect both schedule and inventory
-
Communicate disposition of superseded, obsolete, and excess inventory resulting from part changes, including coordinating rework, scrap, or return-to-supplier to quality, supply chain and operations to coordinate appropriate actions
-
Review BOM structures and part revision data in the MRP system for impact from ECRs, ensuring supply planning parameters (lead time, sourcing, min/max) transfer correctly across revisions. Set baseline planning parameters for new products as well.
-
Evaluate and communicate the supply risk of proposed changes before approval — flagging long-lead components, sole-source constraints, or open PO conflicts that could delay implementation
-
Coordinate with procurement on change notifications, requalification timing, and transition inventory (last-time-buy quantities, bridge stock)
-
Track open ECOs/ECNs against a configuration change calendar, ensuring supply actions are executed on schedule while maintaining a smooth transition between stages
-
Support New Part Introduction (NPI) and engineering prototype builds by confirming supply plans reflect current configuration baselines
-
Provide configuration/change status and risk visibility into S&OP supply review and change control board meetings
-
Identify and help close process gaps between engineering change control and supply planning systems as the organization scales
What You Bring
-
8+ years of experience in supply planning, materials planning, or configuration/change management within a manufacturing environment
-
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
-
Working knowledge of engineering change processes (ECO/ECN/ECR) and how they flow through BOMs, routings, and part masters
-
Experience with MRP/ERP and/or PLM systems (e.g., ION, SAP, Oracle, Windchill, Arena, or similar), including part revision control
-
Strong attention to detail — comfortable tracing a change across multiple linked BOM levels and catching where something doesn't reconcile
-
Comfortable operating in ambiguity — early-stage change processes often require judgment calls before formal system support exists
-
Strong Excel skills for building and maintaining manual tracking tools when systems can't fully support the need
-
Clear, proactive communication style; comfortable escalating supply risk before it becomes a crisis
-
Experience in a startup or scaling manufacturing environment is a plus — you should be comfortable building process where none exists yet
-
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens eligible for a security clearance.
Nice to have...
-
Experience with hardware or aerospace manufacturing and assembly.
-
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or APICS/CPIM certification.
-
Understanding of ISO/AS9100 quality standards.
-
Understanding of MRP principles, lead time management, safety stock calculation, supply chain KPIs and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau is a plus).
-
Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and engineering change orders
-
APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
-
CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
-
Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications
