Summary of Position
To support leading linen management practices and customer experience, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Services LLC. is currently seeking four (4) part-time Hospital Linen Porters to serve some of our Buffalo, N.Y. customers. These roles are required for both weekday and weekend shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
In support of effective on-site linen management, and to enable a safe, comfortable patient care environment, the Ecotex Linen Porter will be responsible for the following key duties:
Specific Scope of Services
· Receive, offload, stage and deliver clean linen to pre-identified area throughout three connected facilities.
· Ensure neat and tidy combining of linens and staging of extra linen in the linen room.
· Deliver required clean linen to department linen carts ensuring appropriate linen levels are maintained.
· Ensure clean linen carts follow Standard Cart Make Up Operating Procedures.
· Collect and load soiled linen onto trailer.
· Lead Orange Return Linen Bag placement, exchange and return to the Ecotex Plant for processing.
· Ensure aLEX and ScrubEx machines are loaded and replenished on schedule as per linen porter workstreams.
· Collection and staging of empty linen carts in Waste Management / Soil areas of facilities.
· Treat all hospital staff, patients and visitors with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Knowledge
· MANDATORY: Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.
· MANDATORY: Reliable transportation.
· MANDATORY: Ability to push and pull 100lbs.
· Working knowledge of hospital linen services would be an asset.
· Minimum of grade twelve (12) or equivalent.
· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal required.
· Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to work alone or as a part of a team.
· Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.
· Must have significant attention to detail while being neat and efficient.
· Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills, treating all colleagues and hospital staff with respect.
· Ability to exercise good judgement and sensitivity in dealing with hospital information.
· Ability to prioritize and successfully resolve issues with high sense of urgency and customer experience focus.
· Strong attention to detail and follow through.
