Behavioral Intervention Specialist
Roles & Responsibilities
Purpose Statement:
The Behavior Specialist will assist with both identifying and servicing children with behavioral, social/emotional, and/or health challenges for better learning outcomes and provide ongoing support to the students, teachers, classrooms, and families.
Essential Functions:
● Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community.
● Supports and builds upon the learning efforts the school district already has in place.
● Provides educational, social emotional skill building, and classroom support.
● Provides observation in and out of the classroom, 1:1 and small group supports and activities.
● Administers, conducts, evaluates the implementation of behavioral assessment measures and techniques.
● In collaboration with staff (may) develop individualized goals and objectives for the child.
● Respect for cultural diversity and adapting ABA procedures to diverse needs.
● Provides follow-up on cases to determine that the identified needs have been met.
● Engages parents to promote involvement in their children’s well-being and educational
programs.
● Fosters an ongoing partnership between homes, school, and community service providers.
● Collects data and provides reports to show outcomes and impact of the program efforts.
● Assists during arrival and dismissal transitions.
● Can assist with absenteeism challenges and attend school events.
● Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s accepted in Behavioral Analysis, Education,
Psychology, Health, or related field.
● Three-year experience with young children, families and early education.

● Proficiency with office computer technology and job-related application software.
● Ability to implement new ideas.
● Ability to promote trust and collaboration between internal and external school
stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
● Current fingerprints and background check.
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
● Vehicle insurance and up-to-date registration.
Benefits:
● Full-Time, Monday-Friday (35 hours per week).
● Annual salary $60,000.
● Health Insurance including dental and eye (for full-time employees).
