Duties
- Greet guests warmly, manage reservations using OpenTable, and seat them promptly to ensure a smooth dining flow
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks professionally, ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and presentation standards are maintained at all times
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments through POS systems
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales while enhancing guest experience
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience preferred; background in the food industry is highly valued
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and order calculations
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure seamless service delivery
