Assembly Technician – Industrial Rotary Cutters
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Assembly Technician to assemble industrial and heavy-duty rotary cutters and related equipment. This position is responsible for assembling components according to drawings, work instructions, and production requirements while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large mechanical components, hand and power tools, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, driveline components, and heavy equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble industrial rotary cutters from individual components through final assembly.
Install gearboxes, PTO shafts, drivelines, blade carriers, blades, guards, wheels, axles, hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and related components.
Read and follow assembly drawings, parts lists, work orders, and written instructions.
Properly identify and verify parts before installation.
Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, impact wrenches, torque wrenches, grinders, and other assembly equipment.
Install and torque bolts and fasteners to the required specifications.
Route and connect hydraulic hoses and fittings when applicable.
Grease bearings, driveline components, and lubrication points as required.
Check gearbox oil levels and other fluids before equipment is released.
Perform operational and functional checks of completed equipment.
Inspect completed assemblies for missing parts, loose hardware, leaks, interference, alignment issues, or other defects.
Correct assembly problems or report issues to the supervisor before the unit moves to the next stage.
Assist with moving and positioning large components using forklifts, cranes, and lifting devices.
Maintain an organized work area and properly store tools, hardware, and components.
Complete required production and inspection paperwork.
Follow company safety procedures, including proper lifting, lockout/tagout, PPE, and material-handling practices.
Work with supervisors, quality personnel, and other production employees to meet daily production goals.
Perform other production and assembly duties as assigned.
