Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by adhering to cleaning routines and infection control procedures
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and team members to coordinate care plans and updates
Skills
- Prior assisted living or long-term care experience, especially in geriatrics or memory care settings
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and behavioral management techniques
- Proficiency in vital signs measurement, medication administration, and safe patient lifting practices
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Ability to operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for accurate documentation
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and long shifts; familiarity with safe patient handling practices
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications; driving skills for home & community care or group home support
