About the Role
Scoops Up is a growing dog waste removal service serving central San Diego. We're hiring a field technician to help service our growing client base.
This is an outdoor, physical role — no desk, no office, no manager looking over your shoulder. You show up, do the work, and take pride in leaving every yard clean. Yes, that means picking up dog poop. If that doesn't bother you, read on.
What You'll Do
- Complete assigned yard cleanups on scheduled route days
- Take before/after photos at each property
- Follow service protocols and safety procedures
- Communicate any issues (dogs, access, etc.) promptly
- Represent Scoops Up professionally at client properties
What We're Looking For
- Valid CA driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Lives within or near central San Diego
- Must be available Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings
- Comfortable working independently — this is a solo role with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Not squeamish — this is a hands-on, dirty job and that's okay
- Comfortable on your feet, bending repeatedly, and doing physical work for the duration of your shift
- Strong attention to detail — clients notice when a yard isn't done right
- No experience required, training provided
Compensation & Details
- $19/hour
- Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate ($0.725/mile, job-to-job) — effectively adds $7–8/hour based on typical route density, bringing total comp to $26–27/hour
- Paid sick leave per CA law
- Hours will grow as the business grows — this is a ground floor opportunity with a business that is scaling
