Job Overview:
R B Hinkle Construction Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced CDL Class A Driver to transport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from construction sites. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and timely execution of our projects.
Job Responsibilities-

Safely operate commercial vehicles with a Class A CDL endorsement, including but not limited to tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and lowboy trailers.

Transport heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders), aggregates, asphalt, and other materials to various job sites.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, documenting any defects or maintenance needs.

Load and unload equipment and materials, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution in compliance with DOT regulations.

Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.

Maintain accurate daily logs, vehicle inspection reports, and other required documentation.

Communicate effectively with dispatch, project managers, and other team members regarding schedules, deliveries, and potential issues.

Perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles and equipment as needed (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure).

Assist with other construction-related duties on job sites when not actively driving, as directed by supervisors.
Job Qualifications-

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating Class A commercial vehicles, preferably in the construction industry.

Experience hauling heavy equipment and various construction materials.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.

Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, bending, and securing loads.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
