A growing home inspection company is expanding! We are seeking one Lead Residential Inspector and two Inspector Apprentices to serve our high-volume real estate clients throughout Davis and Weber counties.
Whether you are already certified or brand new to the industry, we have a structured path for you. However, we want to be completely transparent: completing an online certification course (like InterNACHI) does not mean you are ready to inspect on day one.
Every firm has its own templates, software, reporting tone, and client scripts. We invest heavily in training you to inspect to our exact company standards. This includes mastering premium, high-margin ancillary services like mold testing, radon monitoring, and sewer camera scopes.
The Reality of the Apprentice Role (Read Carefully)
- The Timeline: Professional training takes 3 to 6 months of dedicated, focused effort.
- The Financial Reality: You do not generate income for the company while shadow-training. Because we cannot bill a client for two inspectors on a single site, training pay is limited.
- On-Site Training Pay: Compensation is $10.00 per hour while on-site during training. Because this is specialized starting pay, you must have a personal financial plan or secondary means to support yourself during these initial 3 months.
- The Reward: Once you graduate training and can inspect 100% independently, you immediately transition to a stable base salary plus production bonuses.
What We Provide (Zero Out-of-Pocket Costs for You)
Unlike many inspection firms that force you to buy thousands of dollars in gear, we completely fund your career setup:
- Company Vehicle provided for work use (requires a completely clean record).
- All specialized tools (including heavy-duty ladders, continuous radon monitors, and sewer cameras).
- All reporting software subscriptions and proprietary templates.
- All professional association dues and InterNACHI memberships.
- Comprehensive insurance coverage (Errors & Omissions / General Liability).
- Full Admin & Marketing Support: We book the jobs, handle the agents, and manage the billing. You just focus on the property.
What You Will Do
- Drive our company vehicles to and from inspection sites across Davis and Weber counties.
- Inspect residential structures thoroughly (roofs, foundations, electrical panels, plumbing, HVAC systems).
- Master our proprietary inspection software to generate highly detailed, accurate digital reports.
- Communicate property conditions in a calm, professional, and non-alarming manner to anxious home buyers and real estate agents.
- Perform advanced ancillary services (Radon, Mold, Sewer Scopes) once fully certified.
What We Require
- Logistics: A clean driving record (required for our fleet vehicle insurance), reliable personal transportation for initial commuting, and passing a criminal background check.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to safely carry and set up 50 lb ladders, enter tight crawlspaces or attics, and confidently walk high-pitched roofs.
- Soft Skills & Etiquette: Impeccable customer service, highly proficient verbal/written communication, strict punctuality, and excellent personal hygiene are non-negotiable.
- Mindset: A positive attitude, a willingness to learn a new system from scratch, and extreme attention to detail. Attitude matters more to us than prior experience.
- Bonus Points: Residential building experience, construction trade background, building code knowledge, or being bilingual (English/Spanish).
Women and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
