Our drivers play a critical role in our operation. This role supports both our delivery operations and shop production. You’ll help keep materials moving to vendors and field crews while also supporting day-to-day shop activity.
Overview
We are seeking a motivated Pickup Truck Driver/Laborer to join our dynamic team. This role combines driving responsibilities with hands-on labor tasks, supporting project sites through efficient transportation and physical assistance. What You’ll Do
- Deliver materials, hardware, and small steel items using a pickup truck with stake bed
- Complete local hauls (typically under 1–2 hours round-trip)
- Pick up materials from vendors and suppliers
- Secure loads using straps, blocking, and proper handling methods
- Communicate delivery timing and needs with shop and field teams
- Prepare and stage loads for delivery and vendor pickups
- Gather hardware and consumables for field crews
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts, cranes, and other equipment
- Support shop organization and material flow
- Prime paint finished items
- Assist with UltraLox aluminum rail assembly
- Support general shop tasks during non-driving periods
- Flexibility for occasional early starts, evening deliveries (7–8 PM), and Saturday runs
- Willingness to adjust start times based on field schedules
What We're Looking For:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating pickup trucks or similar vehicles preferred. Class B or C CDL preferred, not required
- Residence within 20 miles of Elmhurst, IL
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol testing under 49 CFR Parts 40 & 382
- Willingness to work both driving and shop responsibilities
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Ability to operate or learn forklifts, cranes, and material-handling equipment
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of work quality

Pay & Schedule
- Union enrollment (Ironworkers Local 853 required after 30-days of employment)
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Standard start time: 6:00 AM (occasional early starts around 5:00 AM based on customer schedules)
- Overtime opportunities based on workload
- Occasional Saturday and evening deliveries
- Hourly rate based on experience
