Accountant – Manufacturing & Distribution
DuraBasic, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Accountant to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations and support accurate financial reporting. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable working in a growing manufacturing, importing, and wholesale distribution environment.
The position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the month-end close, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring inventory and landed costs, and preparing financial reports for company ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close
- Prepare and review profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and other financial reports
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer payments, and collections
- Perform bank, credit-card, and general-ledger reconciliations
- Maintain accurate inventory accounting and cost-of-goods-sold records
- Review and allocate landed costs, including ocean freight, customs duties, drayage, and other import-related expenses
- Monitor inventory adjustments and assist with physical inventory reconciliations
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
- Assist management with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and profitability analysis
- Review customer credit limits, aging reports, and collection activity
- Coordinate payroll, sales-tax reporting, insurance audits, and other recurring accounting requirements
- Work with outside CPAs, tax professionals, banks, and other financial partners
- Develop and maintain internal accounting procedures and controls
- Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend process improvements
- Support company ownership with special financial reports and analysis
- Assist with supervising or training accounting and administrative staff as the department grows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Accounting work experience preferred
- Experience managing the month-end close and preparing financial statements
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or landed-cost calculations
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general-ledger accounting
- Skills in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Enterprise
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, importing, wholesale distribution, or consumer products
- Experience working with ocean freight, customs duties, and imported inventory
- Experience using QuickBooks Enterprise
- Experience supervising accounting or administrative employees
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
