Department: Cargo Office Agent (Import & Export)
Reports To: Operation’s Managers
Position Overview
The Cargo Office Agent (Import & Export) is responsible for end-to-end coordination and processing of cargo shipments via air and interline networks. This role ensures delivery by maintaining accurate documentation, adhering to IATA and local regulatory requirements, and communicating with customers throughout the process. This function serves as the key contact between customers, carriers, brokers, warehouse personnel and internal operations to ensure cargo moves efficiently throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept, prepare and process import/export air freight documents such as: Air Waybills (AWB) house and master ensuring accuracy and regulation compliance.
- Track cargo shipments, utilizing various carrier portals.
- Communicate with customers, airlines representative, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouse teams to answer queries, provide updates, resolve issues and provide notification of delays, exceptions, and estimate time of arrivals.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in cargo management systems which include data entry, document verification, updating data in carrier portals, prepare and complete pre and post flight documents.
- Maintain and manage all cargo claims, shortage or damages, incident documentation (PODS, photos, inspection reports), reports of ULDs inventory, special cargo information (dangerous good, perishable, live animals, oversized/heavy shipment, temperature controlled or special permits), all reports must be organized and kept on file.
- Report daily transactions which include terminal handling charges, storage, cooler, BUP, skids and breakdown fees using the daily report log.
- Housekeeping and Safety Duties: Workplace cleanliness - maintain a clean, organized and hazardous free workspace within the office, file paperwork to maintain audit-ready records, and comply with all procedures and report any security breaches immediately
Pay: $21.25 per hour
