Description:
George School, an all-gender Quaker boarding/day high school located in Newtown, PA, seeks an Assistant Speech & Debate Coach to support our competitive speech and debate activities.
Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and implementing speech and debate training sessions for students of various skill levels.

Support students in preparing for competitions, including coaching on argumentation, research, and delivery techniques.

Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their speaking and critical thinking skills.

Collaborate with head coaches and faculty to develop curriculum and competition strategies.

Monitor student progress and maintain records of participation and achievements.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for all participant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education; relevant coaching or teaching experience is a plus.

Prior experience in speech, debate, or related extracurricular activities preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and inspire students.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Knowledge of debate formats, research methods, and public speaking techniques.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during competition seasons.
