Minimum salary: $40,000.00
This range does not include State Supplemental Pay. State Supplemental Pay is not available for this position. Additional pay differentials are available for college education, military service, and prior law enforcement experience.
The Sheriff has announced an opening for a Case Manager of the Programming and Reentry Section of the Detention Division at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex (LPCC) under the command of Captain Karla Beck.
Applicants must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services discipline or equivalent or prior experience in Reentry work;
- Familiar with community corrections systems and practices;
- Knowledge of community workforce needs;
- Knowledge of community resources providing basic and extensive human services;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule;
- Computer literacy with fluency in the case management and assessment programs;
- Good writing and presentation skills;
- Empathy and compassion in working with corrections transition population;
- Ability and willingness to gain expertise in the area of reentry and rehabilitation.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct individual meetings with inmates and prepare written personalized programs/plans for each participant to establish measurable criteria of expected behavior and accomplishment;
- Set achievable timelines for meeting objectives;
- Review plans on a weekly basis with participants;
- Document progress and revisions to achieve successful outcomes for participants;
- Conduct a formal orientation with each participant;
- Provide fluid assimilation into program including completion of paperwork, and introduction of staff, support team and other participants;
- Provide documentation in confidential participant files to provide structure for case analysis file and program planning;
- Ensure that the highest of confidentiality is maintained for all types of participant files;
- Coordinate aftercare plans and locate necessary resources to reduce recidivism;
- Verify participants success and total completion of established plan;
- Assist participants with basic life planning functions i.e., budgeting, housing plan, treatment, education and employment;
- Prepare reports within the established parameters upon participants release;
- Attend community service organization meetings;
- Participate in trainings and attend department and program staff meetings;
- Assist Program Coordinators with programming needs;
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
