Are you someone who enjoys providing an excellent customer service experience to patients and guests? As the first point of contact in the optical shop you will be responsible for creating a positive experience for all patients and guests.
Abrams EyeCare is looking for a full-time Optician in our West location. The Optician is responsible for designing, verifying and fitting eyeglass lenses and frames, contact lenses, and other devices to correct eyesight with precision and excellent customer service.
Hours vary from 7:30 – 5 pm Monday – Friday and at least one Saturday per month from 8:00 am – 12:00pm . Work schedule can require travel to a location other than your primary location as needed. Hourly compensation is between $18.00-$19.00 per hour based on experience.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent minimum
- Able to do minor adjustments to eyewear minimum
- Two years experience in an optical shop or Optometric practice
Preferred Qualifications:
- ABO certification
- Previous experience with vision insurance
- Computer literate
Job Responsibilities:
- Checks in eyeglasses/contact orders
- Assists patients with eyewear selection
- Adjusts eyeglasses
- Ensures patients are properly educated regarding vision prescriptions and plans
- Contacts patients when orders are ready for pick-up
- Answers incoming patient calls and emails
- Enters orders in Optical Shop software
- Works in optical lab as assigned
- Orders eyewear and files insurance as needed
- Orders contact lenses and explains any rebates available for the brand
- Assists in keeping frame boards and optical department clean and organized
- Takes payments from patients and follows payment protocol and procedures
