Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby Unit
Location: Neptune, NJ
Job Type: Contract | 13 Weeks
Department: Mother Baby / Postpartum
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Mother Baby Unit. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience in postpartum, antepartum, labor & delivery, and newborn care while providing exceptional patient-centered care to mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns
- Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and respond appropriately to changes
- Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing patient evaluations
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed
- Provide postpartum care, recovery monitoring, and patient education
- Assess newborn health status and provide routine newborn care
- Educate families on newborn care, feeding, safe sleep, and discharge instructions
- Support breastfeeding and maternal-infant bonding initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with nursing standards
- Support quality improvement and evidence-based nursing practices
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Mother Baby/Postpartum nursing experience required
- Strong experience in Postpartum Care, Antepartum Care, Labor & Delivery, OR Support, and Newborn Care
- Active New Jersey RN License or Multistate Compact RN License
- Current BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current NRP Certification
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills
- Experience with EMR documentation systems
Schedule Requirements:
- Every Other Weekend Required
- Every Other Holiday Required
- No On-Call Requirement
- No Float Requirement
