We are currently seeking an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our leadership team as Director of Clinical Services, overseeing our Behavior Department and supporting high-quality clinical services across our residential programs.
Position Summary
The Director of Clinical Services provides clinical leadership and oversight for the Behavior Department. This role supervises BCBAs and clinical staff, oversees behavior intervention services, and ensures ethical and effective service delivery. The Director collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, supports staff training and development, provides consultation on complex behavioral cases, and ensures compliance with regulatory and program requirements. This position includes both clinical leadership and occasional direct behavioral consultation.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Supervise and mentor BCBAs, RBTs, and clinical staff within the Behavior Department.
- Conduct staff performance reviews, provide clinical guidance, and support professional development.
- Participate in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding of clinical staff.
Behavioral Services & Consultation Oversight
- Conduct or oversee Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and review/approve Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and treatment plans.
- Provide direct behavioral consultation to residents as needed.
- Ensure each resident receives a minimum of 4 hours per month of BCBA consultation and up to 2 additional hours per month of interdisciplinary consultation (e.g., Mental Health Consultant, Psychiatrist, Registered Dietitian, OT, PT, Recreational Therapist, RN/LVN) as determined by the IPP team.
- Participate in 30-day IPP meetings and annual review meetings, ensuring treatment plans and crisis/emergency plans are developed, implemented, and staff are trained appropriately.
- Oversee preliminary treatment plans and staff training prior to resident placement.
- Ensure documentation of all consultant hours including type of service, provider, resident, date, and duration. Review logs monthly for compliance.
Training & Supervision
- Provide and oversee monthly staff training on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Conduct new hire orientation and ongoing in-service training for clinical and residential staff.
- Model and coach staff on implementation of behavior plans and data collection.
Collaboration & Program Development
- Work closely with caregivers, residential staff, case managers, and Regional Centers.
- Support communication across departments to ensure coordinated care.
- Assist in development and improvement of clinical procedures, documentation, and program systems.
- Ensure compliance with Title 17 Regulations (Sections 56004(c)(2)(D), 56004(d), and 56004(f)), Regional Center requirements, and HIPAA standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field.
- Active BCBA certification.
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience.
- Experience working with Regional Centers or residential services preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
- Ability to travel within Solano, Napa, and Sonoma Counties (~50%).
- First Aid/CPR certification (or obtained upon hire).
- CPI / Nonviolent Crisis Prevention training within 30 days of hire.
- Background clearance, TB test, and fingerprint clearance required.
- Maintain BCBA certification and CEU requirements.
Schedule
Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Field visits may be required based on program needs.
On-call availability may be required for urgent behavioral situations.
