Smart City Tutors is hiring!
We are looking for an in-home ISEE and/or SSAT Tutor to work with students taking the Lower, Middle, and/or Upper level exams. We are prioritizing tutors who can work with students in-home (mostly Manhattan and Brooklyn), but some virtual work may be available as well.
You will be providing both content and test-taking instruction to students. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and supportive as students navigate the application process. With the support of the Smart City Tutors team, they will create an instruction and study plan, will track student progress, and will ensure students are fully prepared for their exams.
Responsibilities
Prepare students for the ISEE/SSAT exams:
- Teach students testing content
- Teach students test-taking skills and strategies
- Communicate with Smart City Tutors regarding availability, student progress, and materials
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families regarding scheduling and student progress
- Arrange scheduling and arrive on time and prepared to each lesson
- Create lesson plans and an instruction schedule for each student
Qualifications
Experience specifically with the ISEE and/or SSAT required. Availability for in-home work required (we cannot hire virtual-only tutors). Bachelor’s degree required. College and graduate courses in education, teaching, or other related fields preferred.
Pay: $70.00 - $120.00 per hour
