Repairs, installs and performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment or as assigned to ensure that such equipment is in good operable condition at all times. Practices 5s and world class manufacturing principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicate effectively and learn how to read mechanical blueprints, starts using and learning company, local, state, and federal hazardous material codes.
- Assists and learns from “All” mechanics to make proper lubrication and grease procedures and applications from manuals diagrams.
- Complies and adheres to the preventive maintenance program and continuously improves program using 5s as a guide, which includes the following activities:
- Learn and assist from other mechanics
- Follow all safety protocols mandated by the manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in the installation and repairs of electrical conduit, cables, piping and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls and grounding as directed.
- Conducts disassembling, repairing and reassembling of gear boxes, conveyors, box sealers, valves, and other packing equipment.
- Learn and assist in work on oven combustion setup and safety devices by troubleshooting.
- Learn and assist in work on hydraulic, compressed air systems and reading complex diagrams by troubleshooting on these systems.
- Follows lubrication programs on assigned equipment.
- Checks oil level in gearboxes in machinery as indicated, programmed or requested.
- Uses workshop tools such as:
- Power tools such as drill presses, cut off saws and portable power hand tools
- Prepares for 5s audits on a daily basis: reviewing toolboxes, company provided tools, spare parts room, and assigned areas in the maintenance shop. All tools should be ready for use at all times.
- Learn and assist troubleshoots and repairs food processing and industrial machinery.
- Learn and assist mechanics in repairs when directed or when directly related to the routine maintenance.
- Uses safe working practices and reports all hazardous conditions and acts at all times.
- Inspects machines and reports any damaged bearing, sprocket, chain as found when performing lubrication tasks.
- Performs PM using mobile frame assigned equipment list.
- Uses mobile frame to maintain parts inventory for plant by checking out or returning parts from the spare parts room.
- Uses mobile frame for ordering parts or services.
- Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments and repairs as indicated on mobile frame program.
- Uses mobile frame to initiate and/or complete work orders.
- Follows all 5s practices by cleaning your personal and company tools, cleaning assigned work areas after each use or prior to end of shift.
- Completes safety checks and individualized safety cross prior to the start of the shift.
- Operates mobile lift truck and hoisting equipment in the performance of his/her work.
- Cleans and paints all repaired equipment as directed.
- Provides suggestions to improve process, procedures and department in support of company goals
- Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure compliance with the Preventive Controls, AIB and other regulatory requirements.
- Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements
- Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork.
- Participates in monthly departmental meetings.
- Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends.
- Assists in the training of new personnel.
- Become familiar and ensure compliance with Yum! Brands quality standards and KPIs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure compliance with the Preventive Controls and AIB gold standard. Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements. Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork. Works in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements. Participates in monthly departmental meetings. Must be flexible to work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends. Other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred.
Must have at least 2 years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience including Electrical Motor Control, Hydraulic Systems and basic PLC troubleshooting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Familiar with Electrical motor control.
- Familiar with Allen Bradley PLC programming or equivalent preferred.
- Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls and grounding as directed
- Disassembles, repairs and reassembles gear boxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment when directed
- Oven combustion setup and safety devices troubleshooting and repairs
- Possesses working knowledge of hydraulic, compressed air systems and be able to read complex diagrams and troubleshoot these systems
- Installs and repairs pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls and grounding as directed
- MIG/TIG welding equipment
- Arc welding equipment
- Gas and Plasma cutting equipment
- Power tools such as drill presses, cut off saws, lathes, mills and portable power hand tools.
- Electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, megger, ammeter, diode and SCR tester.
- Operates mobile lift trucks and hoisting equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts)
Shift: 2nd (2:00pm-10:00pm)
Hourly Rate: $26.03, OT, 7 Holidays, & Vacation Pay
