Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Cybersecurity & IT Engineer to join our IT team. This position will have a primary focus on cybersecurity, while also being a part of the organization's day-to-day technology operations.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable wearing multiple hats: helping protect the organization from cyber threats while also troubleshooting computers, managing systems and networks, supporting employees, and assisting with IT projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop broad experience across both cybersecurity and general IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity
- Monitor security alerts, logs, endpoints, networks, and other systems for suspicious activity.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls and best practices.
- Manage endpoint security, antivirus/EDR, firewalls, email security, MFA, and other security technologies.
- Assist with vulnerability scanning, patch management, remediation, and security assessments.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential threats.
- Help maintain and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist with user security awareness training and phishing awareness initiatives.
- Support access control, account security, permissions, and identity management.
- Maintain security documentation and assist with audits, compliance requirements, and risk assessments.
- Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
Infrastructure & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve IT security, reliability, efficiency, and user experience.
- Automate routine IT and security tasks where practical.
- Assist with disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup procedures.
- Document systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting solutions.
- Work with vendors and service providers when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, systems administration, or a related technical role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to protecting sensitive information.
Pay: $100,808.32 - $121,403.56 per year
