Established towing company is looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Attendant / Lot Attendant to work at our multi-yard vehicle storage facility.
This is a physically active, outdoor position that requires extensive walking throughout multiple yards, frequent movement of vehicles and equipment, and regular forklift operation.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working on their feet for most of the day, working outdoors, and staying organized in a busy towing and vehicle storage environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize vehicles throughout multiple storage yards
- Move vehicles to designated locations within the facility
- Operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely
- Assist with moving vehicles using forklifts and other equipment as directed
- Locate vehicles quickly and accurately when requested by management, dispatch, or office staff
- Maintain organized vehicle rows and storage areas
- Assist with incoming and outgoing vehicles
- Assist with vehicle releases and transfers as directed
- Conduct regular lot checks
- Identify and report vehicle damage, missing equipment, or other issues
- Keep walkways, work areas, and storage areas clean and organized
- Assist tow truck drivers with positioning vehicles when necessary
- Follow all vehicle storage, safety, and security procedures
- Assist with inventory and vehicle identification
- Maintain accurate records or paperwork as assigned
- Follow supervisor instructions regarding vehicle placement and movement
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or security concerns immediately
- Perform other general yard duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
This is a very active position.
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Walk extensively throughout multiple vehicle storage yards during the workday
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Work outdoors in hot, cold, windy, or rainy conditions
- Frequently climb in and out of vehicles or equipment as required
- Bend, stoop, reach, and move around vehicles and equipment
- Safely handle towing and yard equipment
- Lift and carry equipment and materials as required
- Maintain awareness of moving vehicles, tow trucks, forklifts, and other equipment
This position is not primarily a desk job. Extensive walking and physical activity are required.
Forklift Experience
Forklift experience is strongly preferred.
The ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy vehicle storage environment is an important part of this position.
Candidates must be able to follow proper forklift operating procedures and all company safety rules. Any required training or certification will be handled according to company requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous yard, warehouse, towing, impound, automotive, or similar experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have good attention to detail
- Must be able to identify and locate vehicles accurately
- Must be comfortable working outdoors
- Must be safety-conscious around moving vehicles and equipment
- Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance
- Must be able to work weekends and/or varying shifts as needed

The right person will be comfortable spending most of the day moving throughout the yard, keeping vehicles organized, operating equipment, and helping keep the facility running efficiently.
You must be able to work at a steady pace while maintaining accuracy and safety.
