Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and health regulation policies, with a passion for supporting clinical operations and enhancing patient experiences. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive support to healthcare providers, managing medical documentation, and ensuring the smooth functioning of clinical workflows. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures by preparing examination rooms and gathering necessary supplies.
- Collect patient information, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Provide basic life support (BLS) and first aid when necessary, ensuring patient safety in emergency situations.
- Support disease prevention initiatives through patient education on health maintenance and chronic disease management.
- Manage medical records with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on urgency and clinical needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment while complying with health regulation policies.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing insurance forms, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist physicians with medical procedures in office.
- Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office with the ability to perform venipunctures preferred. -
- Valid Florida driver’s license is needed for travel to the clinics. -
- High school diploma or GED is required and will be required to produce at time of hire.
- BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide BLS course within first 30 days).
