About the Role
This is not a traditional shop position. As our Mobile Service Technician, you bring the dealership to the customer. You'll operate from a company-equipped service vehicle, traveling to customers' homes and workplaces to perform Ford recall repairs and routine maintenance on their schedule. No waiting on vehicles to come to you. Just appointments, a well-stocked van, and the autonomy to get the work done right.
If you're a tech who works well independently, keeps clean documentation, and wants to represent yourself somewhere other than a bay, this role is worth a conversation.
What You'll Do
- Perform Ford vehicle recall repairs at customer locations, including private residences and commercial worksites, using dealership-provided equipment
- Complete routine maintenance services including oil changes and tire rotations in the field
- Maintain accurate work orders, parts records, and time documentation for every job
- Communicate consistently with service advisors and dispatch on scheduling, part needs, and job status
- Keep the mobile service vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times
- Represent Ford of Cookeville professionally in every customer interaction
What We're Looking For
- Must be 25 years of age or older (required for company vehicle operation)
- Proven automotive technician experience with a major OEM such as Chevrolet, RAM, Dodge, or GMC (required)
- Comfortable working independently in field conditions, including driveways, parking lots, and outdoor environments
- Flexibility to accommodate a varied schedule as service demand requires
- Strong documentation habits and attention to detail on work orders
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Professional, reliable, and at ease meeting customers face-to-face at their home or workplace
- Ford, ASE, or manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required at hire
