Assistant Cook / Dishwasher
ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Assist the Chef and kitchen team with daily food preparation and cooking.
- Prepare vegetables, meats, seafood, sauces, salads, and other ingredients.
- Assist with preparation for lunch, dinner, banquets, tournaments, and special events.
- Follow recipes, portion requirements, and kitchen standards.
- Maintain proper food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
Dishwashing & Kitchen Cleaning
- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Operate the commercial dishwasher and follow proper sanitation procedures.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, equipment, and work areas.
- Remove garbage and recycling and maintain proper cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
- Assist with cleaning refrigerators, freezers, storage areas, and other kitchen areas as assigned.
- Ensure clean dishes and cookware are continuously available for the kitchen and service team.
General Kitchen Support
- Properly store and label food and ingredients.
- Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
- Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards.
- Help the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Follow instructions from the Chef and kitchen management.
- Work cooperatively with cooks, servers, and other club employees.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, or dishwasher experience preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies as required.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
