The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in overseeing the daily operations of residential, commercial, or mixed-use properties. This role focuses on tenant relations, leasing support, financial administration, and property maintenance coordination to ensure smooth operations and high tenant satisfaction.
Serve as a primary point of contact for tenants regarding inquiries, complaints, and service requests
Assist in resolving tenant issues promptly and professionally
Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including inspections
Ensure lease compliance and community rule enforcement
Assist with marketing available units (online listings, tours, follow-ups)
Conduct property tours for prospective tenants
Process rental applications and perform background/credit checks
Prepare lease agreements and renewal documents
Maintain occupancy goals and minimize vacancy rates
Assist in rent collection and follow up on delinquencies
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records
Support budget tracking and expense monitoring
Process invoices and coordinate vendor payments
Generate monthly performance and occupancy reports
Receive and document maintenance requests
Schedule repairs with maintenance staff or external vendors
Conduct regular property inspections
Ensure compliance with safety and local housing regulations
Maintain tenant and property records
Manage office supplies and vendor contracts
Assist with compliance documentation and audits
Support special projects as assigned by the Property Manager
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field preferred
1–3 years of property management, real estate, or administrative experience
Knowledge of property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, MRI) preferred
Basic understanding of fair housing laws and local landlord-tenant regulations
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Bilingual preferred
