Job Overview
Kingdom Christian School is seeking a passionate, dedicated 5th & 6th Grade Teacher who desires to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students academically, socially, and spiritually.
The ideal candidate will create an engaging, Christ-centered classroom environment where students are challenged to think critically, grow academically, develop strong character, and cultivate a love for learning. We are looking for an educator who values collaboration, communicates well with families, and is committed to helping every student succeed.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for 5th and 6th grade students aligned with curriculum standards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and student needs.
- Integrate educational technology and digital resources into classroom instruction.
- Maintain a positive, structured, safe, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Assess student progress and use assessment data to guide instruction.
- Submit weekly lesson plans and maintain appropriate substitute plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming assignments or assessments.
- Provide progress reports and report cards according to the school calendar.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration on curriculum, student needs, special events, and school initiatives.
- Support students' academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school activities.
- Assist with additional school responsibilities such as lunch, recess, student activities, and special events as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree and/or applicable teaching credentials preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers, and administration.
- Comfortable utilizing educational technology and learning management systems.
- Ability to adapt instruction for different learning needs and abilities.
- Experience working with students with exceptionalities is a plus.
- A collaborative attitude and commitment to professional growth.
