Position Summary
This role is responsible for performing general maintenance, repair, painting, and improvement projects throughout the facility. This hands-on position helps maintain a safe, functional, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, team members, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, skilled problem-solver who is comfortable completing a variety of maintenance projects, with an emphasis on painting, drywall repair, patching, and general handyman work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior painting, including preparing surfaces, patching imperfections, priming, painting, and completing touch-ups.
- Complete drywall repairs, including patching holes, replacing damaged sections, taping, mudding, sanding, texturing, and preparing surfaces for paint.
- Repair and maintain walls, ceilings, doors, trim, cabinets, flooring, and other building finishes.
- Complete general handyman and maintenance projects throughout the facility.
- Install or repair items such as shelving, hardware, fixtures, door handles, blinds, signage, and other building components.
- Perform minor carpentry and finish work as needed.
- Assist with basic plumbing repairs, such as replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and addressing minor leaks, within the scope of the position.
- Assist with basic electrical maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, fixtures, switches, or other minor components, as permitted.
- Complete preventive maintenance and routine facility inspections.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in handyman work, painting, drywall repair, construction, property maintenance, remodeling, or a related trade preferred.
- Working knowledge of painting techniques, drywall repair, patching, sanding, and surface preparation.
- General knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance preferred.
- Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely use ladders and work at varying heights.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required.
