- Verify orders, quantities, labels, product destinations, paperwork, and load accuracy before shipment.
- Ensure poultry products are handled, stored, staged, and shipped according to food safety, temperature, quality, and company requirements.
- Work closely with Production, QA, Maintenance, Logistics, drivers, and carriers to resolve issues and keep shipments moving.
- Maintain a safe shipping environment and ensure compliance with company safety policies, PPE requirements, USDA/HACCP standards, and applicable regulations.
- Track shipping performance, identify delays or errors, control labor and supplies, and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Ability to acquire knowledge of the machinery and processes used in the plant department
- Ability to multi-task in an effective manner
- Ability to collect data, prepare, and interpret shipping reports
- Ability to communicate with and manage large groups of team members
- Ability to respond quickly and sensibly to volatile situations or people and take corrective actions
- Working knowledge of computers, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish/Haitian-Creole are preferred
- High school or equivalent
