Position Summary
Park Ridge Massage is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable Part-Time Massage Therapist to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping clients improve their health and wellness through therapeutic massage and exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to tailor treatment plans based on each client's medical questionnaire and individual needs. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic and deep tissue massage services based on client needs, health history, and treatment goals.
- Review client medical questionnaires and communicate effectively to ensure safe and appropriate treatment.
- Deliver outstanding customer service before, during, and after each session.
- Check clients in and out for appointments.
- Collect payments and assist with basic administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate and professional client records.
- Ensure all professional licenses, liability insurance, and continuing education requirements remain current and active.
- Perform basic cleaning duties, including washing sheets, sanitizing equipment, and wiping down treatment surfaces between appointments.
- Adhere to all applicable state regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
Required
- Illinois Massage Therapy License in good standing.
- Proficiency in deep tissue and therapeutic massage techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to actively listen and understand client concerns and treatment goals.
- Client-focused mindset with a commitment to exceptional service.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and responsible.
- Ability to work independently in a private massage suite.
Preferred
- Experience with additional massage modalities, such as:
- Deep Tissue
- Prenatal Massage
- Lymphatic Drainage
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Cupping or other specialty techniques
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder movements.
- Ability to apply varying levels of pressure during therapeutic treatments.
- Ability to lift and move massage equipment and supplies as needed.
Compensation
- $30+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications
