Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, steering systems, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and tire service to ensure vehicle longevity.
- Service air brake systems, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, and perform wheel balancing to optimize vehicle handling.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs; weld or perform auto body repairs as needed.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems on GM vehicles or similar models.
- Deliver excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and providing professional advice on vehicle maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with dealership or automotive repair shop background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including diesel engines, powertrain components, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics software and schematics reading to pinpoint issues swiftly.
- Experience with automotive electrical systems and auto estimating is highly desirable.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of auto body repair techniques along with basic auto estimating skills is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude; ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid driver’s license; ASE certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
