Duties
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency
- Lead, supervise, and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets while fostering a positive team environment
- Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, purchasing, merchandising, and stock replenishment strategies
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining high satisfaction levels
- Coordinate employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team skills and product knowledge
- Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations accurately
- Implement sales management strategies such as pricing, promotions, and merchandising to maximize revenue opportunities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee recruitment, interviewing, and team management
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management systems, POS systems, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and cash handling
- Solid understanding of retail math including basic math calculations related to sales, pricing, budgeting, and stock control
- Experience with grocery or specialty retail stores is advantageous but not mandatory
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership qualities with the ability to train staff and foster a collaborative team atmosphere
