Lead Carpenter – Residential Remodeling
Mitchell Builds is looking for a skilled, motivated Lead Carpenter to join our residential remodeling team full-time. This is a hands-on role for an experienced carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, works well with a team, and is ready to take on increasing responsibility.
Our projects focus on residential remodeling and renovations, and our Lead Carpenter plays an important role in turning plans into finished spaces. You’ll work directly on the jobsite, help coordinate day-to-day work, maintain high standards of craftsmanship, and help keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate has solid residential carpentry experience, understands how a remodeling project comes together, and is looking for an opportunity to grow into greater leadership and project responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside a small construction crew on residential remodeling projects
- Perform hands-on carpentry, framing, trim, finish work, and general remodeling tasks
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, measurements, and project specifications
- Help organize and coordinate daily jobsite activities and priorities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Ensure work is completed accurately and to Mitchell Builds' quality standards
- Take accurate measurements and perform layout work using hand and power tools
- Assist with demolition, framing, drywall, doors, windows, siding, flooring, trim, and other remodeling tasks as needed
- Identify potential issues in the field and communicate them to the project team
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades when necessary
- Help train and support less-experienced crew members
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, clients, and the Mitchell Builds team
- Take ownership of assigned work and help keep projects on schedule
- Follow company safety practices and maintain a professional jobsite
Qualifications
- Several years of hands-on residential carpentry or remodeling experience
- Strong understanding of residential construction and remodeling practices
- Comfortable working independently while also leading and supporting a team
- Ability to read plans and follow project specifications
- Strong skills with common hand tools and power tools
- Good measuring, layout, and basic math skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and find practical solutions
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable, organized, and willing to take ownership of your work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to safely perform the physical demands of residential construction

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
