We are seeking a safety-focused, professional, and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our operations team in Augusta, GA. In this role, you will operate a 26-ft box truck equipped with airbrakes for local and regional deliveries.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who values reliability, independence, and consistency while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 26-foot box truck with air brakes.
- Complete assigned deliveries safely, accurately, and on schedule.
- Load, unload, and secure freight.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, delays, or violations immediately.
- Maintain the truck in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Comply with all DOT, federal, state, and company safety regulations.
- Complete all required delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Assist with other operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience operating vehicles with airbrakes.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Familiarity with electronic manifests via smartphone.
- Trucking or warehouse experience a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Job Type & Schedule
- 1099 Contractor role
- Full-time and Part-time available
- Overnight shifts required, between 9:00 pm and 10:30 am
- One weekend day availability required
Licensing & Driving Record
- Valid driver’s license (CDL not required).
- Clean driving record – applicants with at-fault accidents or speeding citations within the past 5 years will not be considered.
- A recent 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required
- Recent DOT medial card required
Education & Compliance
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must pass background check, DOT drug screening, and DOT physical.
