The Worcester Youth Center, Inc. is seeking highly motivated individuals to help fulfill its' mission. The mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 14 - 24, helping them to make lasting, positive changes in their lives. WYC helps prepare young people to be successful in life through a variety of activities focused on career, education, arts, leadership, recreation and healthy lifestyles. The Youth Center is open Monday - Friday from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm and some weekends.
Program Facilitator(s) play a vital role in the success of the overall operation of WYC. These positions uses various evidence-based curriculum to support clients to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities. Expertise is being sought in the following content areas:
1). Creative Leadership & Arts : Film, Audio Production, Dance, Visual Arts, Basic Artificial Intelligence and ethical use
2). Career Readiness & Education: Workforce Development, Basic Work Readiness, Job Placement, Follow Up, and
3). Health/Wellness: Adolescent Sexual Education; Restorative Justice, Healthy Lifestyles.
Successful candidates must be able to "hit the ground running". The work includes recruiting, retaining and facilitating 8 to 10 cohort groups of up to 15 participants using positive youth development techniques. Excellent facilitation skills while maintaining fidelity to provided evidenced-based curricula. Excellent written/verbal communication, ability to accurately create content, analyze, report and summarize information. Excellent time management skills are required, as well as ability to work efficiently within a team.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 2+ years’ experience in relevant discipline required. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. These positions are part-time and full-time and includes paid vacation, health insurance benefits and retirement plan.
