Aurora PPEC is a small, family-centered pediatric facility seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the clinical operations of our pediatric PPEC center in Winter Park, Florida. Job Summary
The Director of Nursing will oversee the daily clinical operations of Aurora PPEC and ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care. The DON is responsible for nursing supervision, staffing, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, employee development, infection control, clinical documentation, and maintaining a positive clinical culture throughout the center. The ideal candidate is a pediatric nurse leader who is organized, compassionate, team-oriented, and passionate about caring for medically fragile children.
Duties
- Clinical Oversight Supervise daily nursing operations Ensure safe and high-quality nursing care Review physician orders, medications, and treatment plans Monitor participant health status and nursing documentation Maintain infection control and safety standards Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Team Leadership Recruit, train, supervise, and support nursing staff Assist with scheduling and staffing coverage Conduct staff training and evaluations Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism Create a positive and supportive work environment
- Compliance & Operations Maintain compliance with AHCA, Medicaid, and PPEC regulations Ensure proper clinical documentation and recordkeeping Assist during surveys, audits, and inspections Support emergency preparedness procedures Collaborate with administration, therapists, physicians, and families
- Family & Community Support Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers Help families feel supported and informed Build positive relationships with referral sources and healthcare providers Support the mission and growth of Aurora PPEC
Qualifications
- Active Florida RN license
- Minimum of 2 years pediatric nursing experience
- Experience caring for medically fragile children preferred
- CPR certification
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Previous supervisory or nurse management experience
- Experience in PPEC, pediatric home health, PICU, or NICU
- Knowledge of Florida Medicaid and PPEC regulations
- BSN preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with pediatric care activities
- Ability to lift and transfer pediatric participants as needed
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to safely operate medical equipment

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
