Position Summary:
Our Meat/Seafood Sales Manager is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by preparing and ensuring the freshest quality product. Meat/Seafood Sales Managers achieve this through supervision of all functions in the meat and seafood areas including but not limited to; achieving sales/operational results through ordering, production, decision making, customer and employee engagement, employee development, and encouraging an inclusive team atmosphere within the department, store and company. Meat/Seafood Sales Managers are additionally responsible for compliance to all laws and company policies and procedures including labor and safety regulations, asset protection and food safety.

- Must have completed Meat/Seafood Butcher and Culinary Training Program and/or passed a meat skills test.
- Must complete and maintain valid food safety certification.

ESSENTIAL SUPERVISOR FUNCTIONS:
- Recruit, interview and hire employees while mirroring the communities we serve.
- Supervise, direct the work of, set goals and delegate tasks of employees in the department using discretion and independent judgment.
- Create and alter weekly scheduled shifts for employees in the department while controlling payroll costs.
- Arrange for and conduct ongoing training, completion of checklists and communication with all employees working within your area.
- Cultivate growth through the cross-development of high potential employees.
- Evaluate, coach, reward, recognize employees, and celebrate successes.
- Be actively involved in discussions and decisions to hire, transfer, promote, reward (including wage increases), discipline or terminate employees.
- Cover for Store Director in their absence, through total store responsibility and accountability (Manager In Charge; as needed).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrate the ability to engage others to maximize the customer experience, by creating a personal connection that benefits our customers and communities, with every product, service and solution we provide.
- Foster a positive, union-free work environment by encouraging employees to share their voice through open communication, fostering a team atmosphere, resolving disputes and conflicts, creating a fair and consistent environment, and executing cross development of employees.
- Participate in and identify high potential employees for advancement and growth through the Career Planning process by executing ongoing career discussions with employees, providing stretch assignments and honest feedback.
- Maintain proper department conditions and supplies by overseeing all orders, weekly sales plan, product production and rotation to ensure the highest quality product available to customers. Build and sustain relationships with all vendors.
- Understanding of P&L statement and financial metrics including sales, shrink, gross profit and contribution for the purpose of achieving all operations and sales objectives/goals for assigned areas.
- Ability to adapt to and implement change through effective messaging by explaining the why behind the initiative to respective employees.
- Ability to effectively use all current systems to maximize in stock position and product availability. Make necessary adjustments to minimize shrink and maximize sales, as well as, to meet the changing needs of the department (seasonality, sales trends, etc.).
- Ability to build professional and productive working relationships at all levels of the company to ensure proper communication, compliance and execution of all Big Y initiatives.
- Oversee operation, cleanliness, and maintain equipment/machinery, tools, and workstations.

Pay: $28.25 - $36.75 per hour
