Position Summary
At LOGOS Evangelical Seminary, we are dedicated to Forming Missional Servants for God’s Kingdom and Transforming Global Churches for Christ. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and managers on all employee-related matters, while leading and developing HR systems, processes, and team capacity.This role combines people manager (60%) and hands-on execution (40%), including direct responsibility for payroll processing, HR compliance, and administrative operations. The HR Manager is responsible for building a scalable HR function that supports staff growth, compliance, and organizational effectiveness aligned with the Seminary’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Management & Leadership (60%)
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and develop HR systems, policies, and frameworks to support organizational growth
- Serve as a strategic advisor to managers on employee relations, performance, and workforce planning
- Build and supervise HR team members, including HR Specialist, HR Assistant, and future hires
HR Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Oversee HR records, reporting systems, and documentation standards
Training & Development
- Lead the HR team in designing and implementing role-based employee training programs
Benefits & Compensation
- Oversee benefits administration and compensation structure to ensure consistency, competitiveness, and compliance
Hands-On Execution (40%)
Payroll, HR Administration & Audit
- Oversee and personally support payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Conduct HR audits and internal reviews (personnel files, compliance documentation, policies)
- Manage key HR administrative functions, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and process consistency
Employee Relations
- Advise and support managers in handling employee matters, including conflict resolution and performance issues
- Lead complex employee relations cases with professionalism and confidentiality
- Promote a healthy, mission-aligned workplace culture
Recruitment & Staffing
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for various roles within the Seminary, from job posting to onboarding
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent aligned with the Seminary’s values
- Oversee onboarding processes to ensure strong employee integration
Performance Management
- Develop and enhance performance management systems
- Guide managers in performance evaluations, goal setting, and employee development
- Align performance processes with organizational values and mission
Organizational Development
- Support organizational structure, change management, and staff development initiatives
- Align HR strategies with long-term institutional goals
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
· 5–8 years of HR generalist experience
· Minimum 2–3 years of leadership and management experience. Preferably in HR Manager role
· Strong understanding of HR best practices and California employment laws
· Experience in policy development, training systems, or organizational development preferred
· SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferred
· Proficiency in HR systems and computer skills
· Ability to coach and advise managers effectively
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Must be willing to abide by the Seminary’s statement of faith
Skills:
Fluent in English and Mandarin (reading, writing, and speaking)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
