Federal Construction Senior Project Managers are the face and voice of Gideon with our government clients. They are expected to represent the company in an articulate, professional, and knowledgeable manner. The ideal candidate should be able to fiercely protect the company’s interests while maintaining strong relationships with clients. In addition, they serve as the professional touch point for our Project Managers and must provide guidance, training, and leadership advice, act as an operational bridge for executive management, and drive accountability downstream.
Essential Duties:

Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry, with specific Government construction experience.

Promptly address all contract/government issues on the project.

Strong financial acumen with experience managing project finances.

Ensure all project health information is current for tracking by upper management.

Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly pay request documents and completion End of Month spreadsheet by the due date.

Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders utilizing interpersonal understanding, conflict resolution abilities and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

Possess an in-depth knowledge of federal construction processes, methodologies, and project management and apply those in the work environment.

Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation and assist project managers in maximizing project efficiency.

Approach daily tasks with a sense of urgency especially when tending to field issues, providing strategic solutions to keep projects on track.

Manage the field teams’ operational engagement by ensuring they are trained, supported, and held to the successful fulfillment of individual performance indicators.

Conduct weekly internal meetings with Gideon management both up and downstream.

Our leaders set the tone. Set the standard and lead by example.

Coordinate projects start up, pre-con submittals, build and maintain baseline schedules, work closely with field team and client to ensure smooth project execution. Update job reports with work progress, costs & billing, scheduling updates timely closeout.

Ensure master schedule (p6) is updated at least monthly.

Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality and safety standards.

Project oversight and general direction

Create success metrics for PMs and an accountability procedure including briefing agenda.

Foster growth leading to functionally independent PMs (client interaction, financial understanding, forward thinking and planning skills)

Collaborate PMs in creating the same as above for Superintendents/QCs
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of Department of Defense (DOD) federal construction experience Knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles. Familiar with various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
Required Skills:

Strong background in Government construction as a Project Manager

Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be well versed in utilizing Procore.

Strong scheduling expertise utilizing Primavera P6.

Robust verbal and written communication skills.

Must be willing and able to travel on a limited basis.

Proficient in Resident Management System (RMS).
Preferred Skills:
Applicants living in a HUBZone area a plus.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts; high places; fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
