Apex Turf is the largest, locally owned, professional lawn fertilization company in the area servicing over 7,500 local lawns. We are a fast-growing company and currently have openings for our Lawn Care Specialist AND Lawn Care Assistant positions. This is an opportunity to be thoroughly trained in the lawn care industry using Apex Turf methods and practices to ensure quality and integrity standards are met. Once training standards are met the next step is to work in the field servicing customer lawns using this training to provide quality service that exceeds customer expectations.
This is a seasonal position (late March-end of Nov) with work hours of Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm with opportunity for over-time. Saturdays are required in the early spring and late fall but are typically NOT worked during the summer season. We are always seeking individuals that are career oriented and possess skills that will immediately contribute to the exceptional reputation that our company holds.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
* Applicators will manage a route of customers within a geographic area by treating lawns with necessary products to promote healthy, beautiful lawns
* Assistants will learn the industry and job responsibilities to work toward advancement into an applicator position
* Working on site of multiple customer properties throughout each day based on a recurring schedule of visits to each residence.
* Applying both fertilizers and necessary control products to lawns using modern ride-on application equipment.
* Full training by a NYS certified Lawn Specialist to efficiently build beautiful lawns that will meet or exceed our customer expectations.
* Following state regulations regarding record keeping and placement of posting signs to each property
* Operation & care of a backpack blower to remove all material from driveways, walkways, etc.
* Verbal & written interaction with customers using professionalism and integrity.
* Completion of company documents and customer leave-behind instruction forms.
QUALIFICATIONS TO INCLUDE:
** 1+ seasons of Lawn Care or Landscape industry experience
** Experience with operation & use of lawn equipment
** Positive & respectful attitude toward customers and peers
** Willingness to learn something new every day
** Reliability: good attendance is vital to meet the high demands of our industry
** Professional, neat appearance
** Good verbal and written communication skills
** The desire to work outdoors in various weather conditions
