Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead and oversee clinical operations within a behavioral health setting. This individual will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of clinical staff. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for improving client outcomes and fostering a collaborative, ethical work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to clinical staff, including therapists, counselors, and case managers
- Oversee the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, Joint Commission, etc.)
- Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and quality
- Collaborate with executive leadership on program development and performance improvement initiatives
- Manage staff performance, conduct evaluations, and support professional development
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
- Participate in audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews
- Address client concerns and ensure high standards of care and ethical practice
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field (required)
- Active and unrestricted clinical license (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations and best practices
- Experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with accreditation processes (CARF, etc.)
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Work Schedule
- Full-time position (may require occasional evenings or weekends based on operational needs)
