Position Summary:
The VPK Teacher shapes 4-year-olds for kindergarten by delivering play-based curriculum and hands-on activities. They assess student progress, guide emotional and social growth, maintain state licensing standards, and communicate regularly with parents. This role combines professional teaching skills with ministry, creating a classroom where children thrive and experience God’s love daily.
Essential Duties:
- Lesson Planning: Developing and executing developmentally appropriate daily activities focused on early literacy, math, numbers, colors, and shapes.
- Parent Communication: Conducting regular conferences and providing daily updates on progress and behavior. Develop positive, nurturing relationships with students and parents that model Christian values of kindness, patience, and respect.
- Student Assessment: Administering age-appropriate assessments to measure growth, identify learning needs, and track developmental milestones.
- Classroom Management: Creating safe, clean, and organized environments that inspire exploration, discovery and reflection of God's creation. This also includes supervising teacher aides and volunteers.
- Uphold all safety, health, and licensing standards, ensuring compliance with state regulations and church policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in early childhood education or a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
- The Childcare Facility 45-hour Training Requirement
- Experienced in child development, classroom management, and early literacy/numeracy.
- Experience creating engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
- Strong relational skills: builds trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Joyful, creative, dependable, patient, and organized.
- Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and models integrity, patience, kindness, and compassion.

- Successful completion of criminal records and fingerprint background check.
