About the Role:
The Machinist is responsible for the accurate and efficient setup, operation, and monitoring of CNC machining equipment to manufacture and repair tooling, molds, and precision components. This role executes work according to approved routings and work instructions and is accountable for producing quality parts that meet specifications, schedules, and safety standards. Prior experience with Fanuc controlled machines and/or Makino CNC equipment is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment using Fanuc controls and/or Makino machines
- Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, boring, and finishing per work instructions
- Execute work according to routings and plans of repair established in Business Central
- Monitor machining processes to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Make necessary offsets and minor adjustments to maintain part quality
- Complete assigned operations within established time and quality expectations
Who are you?
You are a skilled CNC Machinist with hands-on experience setting up and operating machines using Fanuc controls and/or Makino equipment. You confidently perform milling, drilling and finishing operations while following work instructions and routing in Business Central. You closely monitor machining processes, make offsets and adjustments as needed, and consistently deliver high-quality parts on time.
What you bring to IGS/What we expect from you:
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or tool & die environment
- Hands‑on experience with Fanuc CNC controls and/or Makino CNC machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
- Experience with precision measuring equipment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to have knowledge of:
- Experience machining tooling, molds, or precision components
- EDM, highspeed machining, or complex multi-axis experience
- Experience working in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with ERP driven work orders and routings (Business Central or similar)
- Technical training or apprenticeship background
