Duties
- Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines
- Support menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas and ensuring nutritional requirements are met
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas by following cleaning schedules and sanitation standards
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and ensure timely delivery of food
- Contribute to food presentation, portion control, and plating to enhance the dining experience
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry practices
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management systems
- Proficiency with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient prep work
- Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen staff and team members
- Prior restaurant or catering experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Demonstrated understanding of food handling procedures, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
