Position Title: Senior Aerospace Project Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA
Work Arrangement: On-site
Position Summary:
DZYNE has an immediate need for a talented Senior Project Engineer capable of the oversight and integration of projects supporting on-going and emerging federal aerospace, defense, and commercial contracts. This position requires a person that can both develop process and work within defined procedures, to include government requirements. The successful candidate will have experience interfacing with a wide range of internal disciplines, customers, and active subcontractors in a lead role having seen projects progress from inception to completion. Demonstrated experience in project financials tracking, data and hardware deliverable management, and subcontractor management is required. The successful candidate will have a background experience in projects in the Government or Defense Contracting Industry.
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary Role will be maintaining project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, working in collaboration with Program Management and Technical Engineering
- Project financials
- Project & program deliverables
- Team task and labor tracking and management
- Requirements decomposition in tasking with V&V
- Documentation and communication of project health and status to both internal and external stakeholders
- Schedule, plan, and host technical meetings and design reviews
- Analyze and interpret technical data to inform project decisions
- Proven ability, capacity, and aptitude with planning, organizing, coordinating technical work, and obtaining cooperation from others
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience as directly supporting or leading project execution of design, development, manufacturing, or operations programs
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and technicians in defense or aerospace industries
- Positive, “can-do” attitude and talent/experience leading people and cultivating healthy relationships
- Pro-active approach to solving problems
- Work under general direction in a fast-paced environment collaborating between program and technical teams
- Working knowledge of enterprise resourcing and planning tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience in either aerospace development, manned or unmanned aircraft flight operations, or aircraft manufacturing
- Experience with CAD software and simulation tools
- Active or previous security clearance
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Business Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clearance Level Required: None, security Clearance not required but preferred
Travel Required: Yes, Up to 10% anticipated

- Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
Export Control / ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.
Work Authorization Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 annually
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
